When confronted by a kid, or their parent, how willing are you to buy cookies and other assorted snacks that they're selling for their school? Have any of your co-workers or relatives browbeat you into buying something from their child?

Not very willing. I don't like emotional blackmail.

Neither do I. A few months ago a co-worker brought in her child's candy brochure and browbeat me into buying this flat box of chocolates. Didn't want to, but I went ahead and did it anyway.

I'll buy from them. Depends though. I had a co-worker whom I couldn't stand and she was always bringing in shit to buy from her son. I never bought anything simply because I didn't like her. But if the kid is selling something that I like and I wouldn't mind purchasing, I have no problem buying it. I definitely don't spend any exorbitant amount of money though.

lol I wouldn't have. If I'm buying chocolates, I ain't paying for the overpriced crap the kids are given to sell.

Like FM said, that stuff is so over priced. $10 for a box of holiday candy that is so tiny I would be embarrassed to give it as a gift.
When my son was in elementary, I never had him ask people. I just gave the school a donation on my son's behalf for whatever the fundraiser was for. Better to give them a straight $10 then buy something for $10 when the school probably only sees $3 of that $10.

I've never been "browbeaten" into buying anything. At work, people just leave the order form in the breakroom and if anything looks good I'll order a few dollars worth. When my daughter was that age, I would do the same thing. No one has ever gotten in my face to buy anything.

Not cookies or snacks but I let this one girl I used to work with hustle me into buying a dollar raffle ticket for her brother this one time. "I bet you win, watch & see!!!" Yeah right!

I'll do a dollar or two for chocolate bars, but no raffles or anything else.

My job has rules against that sort of thing thankfully. No one wants to be pressured into buying little Susie's chocolate crunch bars. Let your little angel go door to door like in the old days.
