Who puts this on the Christmas tree? Oddly enough I don't think I've seen the stores selling it this year, and I hope that's wrong because there's always some concern that they'll stop making it due to animal safety reasons or something.

When we were kids we used tinsel on our tree it has sort of a retro look for a christmas tree. Eventually we stopped using it and I don't use it at all.

Growing up we used them, ugh and they were a mess, they'd fall on the ground and would numerous times get caught up in the vacuum as well.

We use that stuff every year, and I would like to know WHO the hell came up with that 'one piece at a time' crap, though if history of Christmas in this family is any indicator, it must've been some man, since the ones in this family are more apt to hate Christmas than the women are.

When I was a kid they were a staple for the tree. They were actually metal then. I think the last time I saw them they were metal-looking plastic.

I prefered that over the white fiberglass stuff ppl wrapped around their trees to give a snowy effect. Some looked like tree cocoons.

No, I don't use them. I've used angel hair but that stuff is even messier, and quite irritating to the skin.

I put so much stuff on our tree that it doesn't need the tinsel. I use white garlands, which gives it a snowy effect, and plastic icicles to hang. I also hang white beads along with colorful Mardi Gras beads. I make pretty nice trees.

I gave up on tinsel a long time ago. Hanging it one strand at a time is a royal PITA!

Like I said, who the hell came up with that rule? We just grab a handful and toss it on here and there.
